Family photography is close to my heart as I have a house full of photos from many photo shoots we have had over the years. If, like me, it’s those photos of piggy backs, races, tickles and laughter that you love more than anything I’d love to hear from you. I thoroughly understand that all children are different; motivated and captivated in different ways and by different things. That’s what makes my family photography different. I focus on the personalities within the family and let you freely express themselves without having to pose for the camera.

I have a mixture of favourite locations that I like to use (my favourites are in Maidenhead, Windsor, Burnham, Binfield and Workingham) as a backdrop for my sessions, however they really can take place anywhere. I like to use the best light possible so always suggest that we do these when the sun is low, usually a couple of hours before sunset or first thing in the morning. If you have any favourite locations or somewhere that means something special to you as a family I am happy to meet you there so long as it’s allowed.

Family photo shoots usually take 1 hour – sometimes more. Before your session I will figure out the best spots for us to visit within our location and I will follow you as you play, chase, tickle, cuddle. The shots are 90% unposed, with me guiding you into the best light rather than forcing you to stand certain ways. The idea is to feel relaxed and not conscious of a camera being in your face.

I am also happy to take photos within your home if the light is good enough, either before an outdoor session or instead of. Here I tend to watch the kids play, get you all to relax on the bed or sofa and capture life as a family as it happens. I don’t bring lots of equipment it is just my camera and I.
You just need to make sure that there is enough light and space in at least two rooms so that I can work and capture images from a variety of angles.

After your session the wait for your gallery is usually around 2 weeks, and as I know you will be desperate to see some before then I normally share one or two on my Facebook or Instagram page as a preview. You will receive a gallery of watermarked images (black and white and colour versions of each) to look at and then choose your favourites and which additional packages you may like. You will receive a black and white and colour version of each image that is included in the gallery and then if you choose it. This is all done within the comfort of your own home, so no added pressure from me.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How long do photo shoots take? Usually around 1-2 hours, depending on how many people are in the family.
- What should I wear? I will send you a guide once you have booked. There is no need to buy new clothes for your photo shoot, but my guide will help to get the best possible photos - keeping the colours harmonious and the focus on the connection between you and the children.
- What should I bring? Nothing but snacks or any bribes that you may need if your children are feeling shy or not wanting to play ball.
- Do you photograph outside all year round? I go until about mid November at which point it gets too cold for the children and dark too early.
- How far do you travel for home and location sessions? Within an hour of Maidenhead
- Is travel extra? I charge £15 extra for travel outside of Windsor and Maidenhead, Berkshire
- Do we get all the photos? Your session fee doesn't include any images. You can choose a collection either in advance, or once you have seen the online gallery.
- What happens if it rains? We reschedule!
